Cathy Szymanski has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Erie in Erie, Pennsylvania for 17 years. Prior to joining the Erie chapter, she was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Millcreek for seven years. She has been a member of eKiwanis 2.0 for four years.

Over her 24 years of involvement with Kiwanis, Cathy has held several leadership positions within the organization. From 2005 to 2006, she was the Club President of the Kiwanis Club of Erie; from 2007 to 2008, she was the Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis Division One; and from 2011 to 2012 she was the Governor of the Pennsylvania District of Kiwanis.

Cathy's commitment to service and to the Kiwanis organization has earned her many honors. At the Club level, she was honored as "Kiwanian of the Year" by the Kiwanis Club of Erie. At the District level, she is a Life Member, was a Distinguished Secretary, a Distinguished President, a Distinguished Lieutenant Governor, a Distinguished Kiwanian for 22 years, a Pennsylvania District Trustee, and was given the Key of Honor. At the International level, Cathy is a Life Member and has been a District Formula Chair. She has received the George F. Hixson, Walter Zeller, and Pennsylvania Pliney Wilson Fellowships.

Outside of Kiwanis, Cathy is involved with other organizations, including Community Shelter Homeless Services, Pennsylvania State Police Camp Cadet, Safe Kids, and Positive Youth Development. She was named America's Promise Volunteer of the Year.

She served in the United States Army and Army reserves for six years, earning an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army, three Army Achievement Medals, and an Army Good Conduct Medal. She moved to Erie, Pennsylvania to finish her education, where she studied Computer Science at the Erie Business Center and Marketing and Sales at Mercyhurst College. Currently, Cathy is the Director of WOW at Szymanski Consulting and is the President of e-IT Support, and is an Amazon Number One BestSelling Author who has written books on the subject of customer service.

Cathy lives with her husband David in Wattsburg, Pennsylvania. She has many personal interests, including travel, biking, reading, gardening, and volunteering in her spare time.
